Nikalas Greyson & Mallory Forbane His hands were shaking.
Clenched into fists so tight, Nik could feel his nails tearing into his palms, the pain allowing him to focus past the burning desire to tear her heart from her chest. “Get. Out.” It was a growl. A warning. All he could manage, but she never took orders from without a fight and her blue eyes sparked with indignation that made him want to groan. She was stunning when she was angry, but if she didn’t listen to him...

Nikalas Greyson & Mallory Forbane He’d been teasing her.
How he’d found her childhood journal, Mallory would probably never know. What had possessed the creature over a thousand years old to read her childhood journal, Mallory was certain she’d never understand. All she cared about, in that moment, was making sure he didn’t read any more of it. Especially aloud! [Redacted] & Madeline Hail The warm press of her lips against the corner of my mouth almost rose me from sleep.
My eyes cracked open to stare up at Maddy, her cascade of long blonde hair a waterfall around us, casting her features into shadow. The fluttering sound of her wings echoed around the room as she shifted on the bed, and I could feel a frown of question, of concern, fighting through my sleep-addled mind. A tender brush of her fingers smoothed it away before it could fully form. “Falling in love with you would be the death of me...” Reilly Mosswolf & Stella Korazon The silence was deafening.
Reilly hadn’t said anything since they’d escaped the estate by the skin of their teeth. A crossbow bolt had torn through Stella’s cloak, but she’d managed to twist out of its path, dragging Reilly down a side street and using narrow passageways known only to the thieves to escape. But escape they had, and she couldn’t figure out why Reilly still felt so tense at her side. Why she could practically see the glare being directed at her, even though his face was hidden in the shadows. It was only when he pulled her to a stop halfway back to the guild, that she began to realise it was fear that had held his tongue. Relief that made his hands shake. Andric Roche & Lizzy Hail Months ago, Andric wouldn’t have known where to look for her. When the discussions became too heated, and Lizzy needed space to breathe and quiet to think, she would have slipped out the door and Andric would have needed to rely on Booker’s connection to her mind to find her, and make sure she was safe.
Now, he knew he simply had to seek out the nearest source of running water. Her attention stayed fixed out towards the horizon as she watched the ebb and flow of the ocean, but she’d sensed his approach because she didn’t so much as flinch when Andric’s arms curled around her waist. Jack Sanger & Krysis Krysis didn’t remember the last time she’d allowed rain to touch her physical form. The icy cold seeping through her clothes, the water clinging to her eyelashes forcing her to blink, sending droplets scattering down her cheeks.
But Jack’s hand in hers had pulled her into the physical, even as he pulled them into a run, and directed them through the door into his home. Booker Reed & Cara Evelyn Lila was avoiding him.
Booker had expected it because they’d fought, and despite her unruly temper, there was little Lila hated more than fighting with him. But that left Booker adrift in a school of vampires, with nothing to ground him, and he found himself drawing closer and closer to the outcast girl they’d encountered their first night at the school. Cara. Lizzy’s roomate. It's been a long time since I've had access to my main computer and, along with it, my video editing software. But this evening I couldn't resist the urge to put together a Book Trailer for Changeling. March 16th is the 1 year anniversary of Changeling's Release, and I may or may not have something special up my sleeve... For now, enjoy this brief glimpse into the world of Changeling ^_^ Fey go missing in the mortal realm. Everyone knows that. When Lizzy's mother is the next to vanish she's expected to grieve and move on. Instead Lizzy wants to find out what happened, but the answers she seeks can't be found in the fey realm of Arbaon. With the help of her best friend, Booker Reed, Lizzy's determined to retrace her mother's final steps... straight through an illegal portal and into the mortal realm. Whatever leads she expected to find, it wasn't an academy of vampires, and a world stalked by their rabid cousins, the kavians. Forced to rely on the vampires for protection, and secluded away behind the high walls of Speculo School, it quickly becomes clear not everyone is pleased with Lizzy and Booker's investigation. With danger building the further they dig, the two fey need to decide if the closure they seek is worth risking their lives for. But the longer they remain amongst the vampires, the more Lizzy begins to suspect that her answers instead lie with the deadly kavians. Changeling is available now at all your favourite online stores
To download and read the prequel novella, you can sign up for my newsletter and grab "Whatever Happened To Madeline Hail?" completely free! Signing up for my newsletter also means you'll hear about sales, cover reveals, and sneak peeks at my work in progress before anyone else. While ‘Over The Dragon’s Gate’ starts off a little slower than I’d usually like, this co-written story gives you enough hints, enough clues, and enough thoughtfully teased out tidbits to keep its readers engaged and invested.
Much like one of our main characters, Treya, there’s an underlying sense that there’s more to this than meets the eye, and the authors cleverly reveal it all to the reader alongside Treya as he discovers the parts of himself that he’s forgotten. The Signature Move is the first contemporary romance of Cassandra Diviak’s that I’ve delved into and I have to say I’m not in any way disappointed. While I wouldn’t call ‘Sports Romance’ my preferred genre, Diviak is able to bring characters to life with a vivacity that grabs you immediately.
The Signature Move explores themes of domestic violence, parental neglect and emotional abuse, eating disorders, and the worst kind of ex-boyfriend, but with a light, delicate, touch that handles the difficult subject matters with care and careful consideration... Chronicles of the Dawnblade, Book Four I have so much to say about this book and ALL of it is good!
If you’ve been following my reviews of this Epic Fantasy Adventure by Andrew Claydon, you’ll know that the beginning of Book 3 had left me a little unsteady about the tone the series was taking, but while ‘The Odd Sea’ recovered in the second half, ‘Wrath and Wraiths” has blown all of my concerns out of the water from Chapter One. It’s a masterpiece of storytelling, once again filled to the brim with Claydon’s unmistakeably humor. Dry, witty, and a joy to read, and even though the middle of November is the busiest time of my year, once I dipped a toe inside the front cover, I couldn’t stop myself from finishing the whole book. Thank you to the Writeblr Cafe for hosting an author interview with me over on Tumblr! The format was refreshing and I had fun chatting with you. What got you into writing? Honestly, I don't truly know. I've been telling stories since my earliest memories, so around the age of 2, where I'd pull out old second hand toys and use them as characters. The first time I remember actually writing down one of my stories, I was about 7 or 8, and wrote a story for class called "Rosie the Rabbit Goes On An Adventure". If you'd like to read the rest of the interview, head to Tumblr and check out
The Writeblr Cafe... Thank you so much to Sarah from The Reading Nook for hosting an author interview with me for the launch of Changeling! Tell us a little about yourself and what got you into writing?
I live in the South East of England with my cat, Litha, and am lucky enough to have my parents and older brother living nearby too. Straight out of highschool I trained as an IT Technician, but it was always intended to be a holdover job until I could get my work published. After college, I had some part time positions, but ultimately ill-health took me off the job market full time. I’ve only recently been able to claw my way back into writing regularly, and it’s culminated in my debut novel. I don’t really know of a time when I wasn’t telling stories. The first time I remember writing a complete story, I was about eight years old and I wrote ‘Rosie the Rabbit Goes on an Adventure’ for my english lesson, but I was telling stories much earlier than that, before I could write. I remember using old toys and bringing out a new one every time a new character turned up. I don’t recall if I was telling the story aloud, or just to myself in my head, but I must have been about 1 or 3 years old. I fell in love with books early, and storytelling has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. On March 16th 'Changeling' will officially be out in the world for all to read, and it still feels very surreal.
Especially as, this week, some of the advance reviews have been coming in and they're better than I dared to hope for! Over on Goodreads, 'Changeling' is sitting at an impressive 4.29 stars, but more importantly to me are the comments from my ARC team. It's a genuine delight to see what they enjoyed about the book, and also what they didn't enjoy. The world building they struggled with, or which characters they connected with. Changeling has been a journey for me, and finally letting it go so it can be a journey for other people has been an utter delight to watch. If a little nerve wracking! So take a look at some of the early reviews beneath the Read More, and if you'd like to preorder your very own copy of Changeling, you can purchase it at your preferred store HERE. Potioneering for Love and Profit I received a free copy of this book from the author, and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. However, I now have a paperback copy on order because Holy Sh-- this was so good!!
R. K. Ashwick made herself comfortable on my list of favourite authors after her debut novel, 'The Stray Spirit'. There's a freshness to her authorial voice that makes her books an utter delight to read, and time slips away from me the moment I start the first page. With 'A Rival Most Vial' she's cemented her spot in my top ten favourite authors. I didn't anticipate buying any paperbacks this year, I've got bills and a holiday to save for, but I simply had to shuffle around some finances to add this one to my shelf. If you're familiar with the process, and want to read an early copy of Changeling then you can head on over to my googleform and sign up... "But wait, Ari! |
